Understanding Your List
Your eCommerce account on 1ShoppingCart.com allows you to save and manage a client list so you can better access and communicate with your prospects, customers and affiliates.
Every single time a new contact is added to your account they receive a category name based upon how they joined your database. There are three client categories within our system:
Prospect: A prospect can be thought of as a lead, either someone who has signed up for one of your mailing lists and who has not made a purchase from you. There are a few different ways for someone to become a prospect in your account; they may have subscribed to your list through a form or direct subscribe email address, or may be a client you have entered manually. If one of your prospects ever makes a purchase from your account, their status will automatically be updated to that of a customer.
Customer: A customer is exactly as it sounds; someone who has attempted to make a purchase from your store. This means that, even if an order is declined a record is entered into your account and given customer status. Once the customer label has been assigned to a record within your account, it cannot be changed.
Affiliate: An affiliate is a client who has signed up to for your affiliate program. If an affiliate ever makes a purchase from your account, they will retain their affiliate status as well as becoming a customer!
